Listing in AMS - 4
Editing the Listing

At this point, you will want to go to the MLS to find your listing. Here are the steps:
  1. Click here to open a new window for the MLS (this is in addition to the AMS window.) It is not necessary to log in as you will not be editing your listings on MLS.
  2. Look up your listing in MLS using the MLS number.
  3. Press Alt-Tab to come back to this window. Here is where it gets a little tricky for the tutorial only. Now you have 3 windows open and pressing Alt-Tab successively only goes back and forth between the last 2 windows used. This can get confusing, because if you are reading this tutorial, now you may have difficulty Alt-Tabbing back to the AMS window. Not to worry. You can use "Alt-Tab-Tab". If this is too confusing, then simply print out the tutorial and you can then Alt-Tab normally between only the AMS and MLS windows.
  4. Using the copy and paste functions from page 1 of this tutorial, you can now highlight and copy any text you desire from your MLS listing and paste it into the appropriate fields below.
  5. There are two fields for text. The first is what will show up in the print magazine, and the second is what appears online. You may use up to 1000 characters for online, but it is suggested to keep text for print under 385 characters.
  6. Note that there is a field for price. This field shows up online only. If you want to display the price on your printed listing, please enter the price again at the end of your text for print.
  7. The built-in spell checker is reccommended before submitting your listing.
  8. Except for headlines, please do not use all caps in your listings. This looks especially bad in print.
